Once you register, login and click the “Play Now” button on the upper right of the website and then click “Launch Game” button.
Create your Character
After the game window is launched, you will see the character creation screen.
First click on the “male” or “female” gender buttons on the upper left. By clicking on the buttons below you can then select your character’s clothing, hair style, face and skin color.
Name your character
Once you are happy with the way your character looks, you can select a name at the bottom of the screen. Names are created by combinations of historically and culturally appropriate name lists. Click on the first or last name and then the buttons on the bottom of the screen to create your own unique character name. Or just press the “random” button for the system to do it for you.
Select your mastery
Next click on three mastery buttons on the lower left. Your choice of Mastery gives your character different titles as you level up and certain advantages in-game.
After you complete your character design, click the “accept” button, which will take you back to the character selection screen. Once there, press “enter world” to enter the World of Temasek.
Moving Around
The first thing you need to learn is how to move around the world. Use the arrow keys or the WASD keys to move. See the controls page for how to do this.

Teleport Gates Teleport gates are placed around the world to allow you to travel zone-to-zone. The location of these gates are marked on the zone maps, which is launched by pressing the M button on the minimap, or by pressing the “M” key.
Interface
Next try to familiarize yourself with the interface. Try clicking on the buttons on the action bar below to see what they do. Also hit the M key to see what maps you have available. For a more detailed explanation, see the Interface page.
Your First Quest
Quests are the main gameplay feature of World of Temasek. Quests are tasks given to you by Non-player Characters (NPCs). Throughout the game world you can find dozens of quest giving NPCs, who will ask you to talk to other NPCs, deliver items, examine things in the world and even drive away dangerous animals and pirates. These quests feature the history, culture and political intrigues of Temasek and Southeast Asia, as well as China and India. By completing quests, you gain experience points that level up your character. You can also earn money and items.
When you land in the game world, look around for an NPC (Non-player Character) with a glowing golden kala (lion) above his head. Mouse over him, and you'll see your cursor changes to a speech bubble. Left-click the NPC and you'll see a Quest Dialog window appear. Read what the NPC has to say, accept the quest by clicking "accept" and you're off on your first quest. Be sure to hit the M button for maps to help you find your way around (see "maps" on the Interface page for more details).
Hit the Q key or click the parchment icon on the bottom right of the screen to bring up your quest log. This lists your current quests and reminds you what you have to achieve. When you complete a quest, hand in your quest to the NPC (the NPC will now have a red lion icon above his head) to receive your rewards.
